Bonaire Travel Tips

We've been traveling to Bonaire for well over 20 years. Here's brief travel tips to keep in mind:

Generally speaking, we've found that most people will over-pack in the clothing department. The attire on Bonaire is casual. A good rule of thumb is to take half of what you think you'll need.

Be sure to bring a mosquito repellant (they seem to like to congregate under tables at some outside restaurants), a good sunscreen, and, of course, a good sense of humor. You'll find that things are not the same as "back home", but isn't experiencing a different culture one of the reasons why we visit other places?

Also, when dining, be sure to ask for the bill when you're ready to leave. Generally speaking, restaurants on Bonaire do not wish to hurry you through a dinner, and thus will not present you with a bill until you request it.
